The role
We’re looking to build an ongoing working relationship with an engaging storyteller who enjoys connecting with people and bringing history to life.
You’ll lead our six-hour standard flagship route for shared departures and private groups: welcoming guests, managing the pace of the experience and sharing historical stories with accuracy and confidence.
Who we’re looking for
- Fluent spoken English.
- A strong interest in Black history and diaspora culture.
- Engaging storytelling and confidence speaking to groups.
- Reliability, preparation and care for the guest experience.
- Willingness to study, rehearse and develop your delivery through feedback.
Previous guiding experience is welcome.
Training
Paid training is provided at €35 per hour, using study materials, practice walks and shadowing with AfroNomadik’s founder.
Training dates will be agreed with the successful candidate, with the possibility of starting before mid-December 2026. Independent guiding begins once you can deliver the experience to AfroNomadik’s standards.
Fee and availability
The freelance fee is €35 per hour. A standard assignment includes the six-hour tour and a required 15-minute preparation and welcome period, totalling €218.75, invoiced as a freelancer.
This is a year-round opportunity. Tour volume varies, with January and February generally quieter and demand picking up from March. Assignments depend on bookings and mutual availability.
